Laura Cieslik, M.D. - Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Laura Cieslik is a Nebraska native and was drawn to Colorado for its close proximity to her family and the wide variety of outdoor activities that the area offers.  She joined the Boulder Medical Center Obstetrics and Gynecology department in September 2011 after spending many years on the West Coast.  She loves running, hiking, gardening, biking, and skiing.  She lives with her beautiful calico cat.  She plans to live and work in the Boulder community permanently.

MEDICAL TRAINING AND SPECIALTY

Dr. Cieslik graduated as valedictorian of Bellevue West High School in Bellevue, Nebraska in 1998.  She then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2001 and graduated with Highest Honors.  She worked at University of California in San Francisco doing molecular biology research on chlamydia for two years following her undergraduate work.  During this time, she had the opportunity to travel to Ethiopia for one month on a clinical research trip to study chlamydia as part of an antibiotic trial.  She then moved to Los Angeles in 2003 for medical school and graduated in 2007 with Highest Distinction and was also awarded membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.  She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2011.

Dr. Cieslik has formal training in DaVinci Robotic surgical procedures, and has privileges to do these procedures at Boulder Community Hospital.  She offers robotic total laparoscopic and supracervical hysterectomies, as well as robotic laparoscopic treatment of fibroids, endometriosis, and adhesions.  In addition, she enjoys managing a wide variety of disorders including irregular menstrual bleeding, contraception, pregnancy and pregnancy complications, miscarriage, incontinence, sexually transmitted infections, menopausal symptoms, general health maintenance, and infertility.  She loves obstetrics and enjoys guiding women through their pregnancy journeys.  Her goal is to make the labor and birth experience as close to the patient’s vision for her birth as possible while ensuring the health and safety of both mom and baby.

Dr. Cieslik is a member of the Boulder County Medical Society, Colorado Medical Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha.  She is board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
