Paul B. Cohen, MD - Pediatrics

Dr. Cohen is a New York native, but he lived and practiced pediatric medicine in Northern California until 1991 when he and his family moved to Boulder and he began his practice at Boulder Medical Center. His wife Jane is a psychotherapist. They have two sons, Noah and Joel. The Cohens enjoy skiing, hiking, and other outdoor sports. Dr. Cohen plays the classical violin, the bluegrass mandolin, and the fiddle.

MEDICAL TRAINING AND SPECIALTY

Dr. Cohen is a graduate of Brown University. He received his medical degree from Boston University in 1971 and completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He earned Board Certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in 1978 and received a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley. He served in the National Health Service Corps from 1976 to 1980. Dr. Cohen’s area of special interest in pediatrics is preventative medicine. He has provided consultation to organizations and parent groups concerning health issues in day-care. In addition, he has had extensive experience working with developmentally disabled children. He feels that it is important to develop a warm and trusting relationship with both parents and children so that parental concerns and intuitions can be validated.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS

Dr. Cohen is a member if the Colorado Medical Association and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He was an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California School of Medicine at Davis before moving to Colorado.

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Cohen, please call 303-938-4750. Boulder Medical Center’s office hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday and 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday. However, specific hours for each physician may vary.
