Matthew Holland, M.D. -
Dr. Holland began practice at the Boulder Medical Center in July 1995. Previously he was on the faculty of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque serving as their Director of Interventional Cardiology. He is originally from Los Angeles, California. He enjoys skiing the Colorado Rockies, scuba diving and back packing.
MEDICAL TRAINING AND SPECIALTY
After receiving his Medical Degree and completing his Internship and Residency at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1985, he was awarded a Fellowship from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, for Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Holland is a nationally recognized expert in coronary stent placement; a procedure that is performed to open blocked arteries. Other areas of interest include cardiac critical care, pacemaker placement and echocardiography. Dr. Holland helped establish the Boulder Heart Institute which is a multidisciplinary, humanistic approach to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.
Dr. Holland is Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases and in Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a member of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, the American Heart Association and the Colorado and Boulder County Medical Associations.
