John Imig, M.D. - Gynecology

Dr. Imig was born and raised in Iowa. He is married and has three children. His leisure time interests center around outdoor activities, especially skiing (the Loveland Basin Ski Patrol), road biking and hiking.

Medical Training and Specialty

After Graduating with honors from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dr. Imig received his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa in 1971. He served his internship and residency at the University of Colorado Medical center in Denver. After a two-year tour of duty as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the U.S. Army Hospital on Fort Polk, Louisiana, he returned to Colorado and joined the Boulder Medical Center in 1977. Dr. Imig regularly participates in postgraduate courses to keep up with advances in medicine. He has a special interest in the challenges of the perimenopause and menopause. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and voluntarily participates in recertification current through 2005, and renews this each year.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS

Dr. Imig is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is President of the Board of Directors of the Boulder Medical Center and served nine years on the Board of Directors of the Boulder Community Hospital. He is past president of the Medical Staff at Boulder Community Hospital.
He served nine years on the Board of Directors at the People’s Clinic, two years as its president. He has been a clinical instructor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and Obstetrical consultant to the People's’ Clinic.
