Jennifer Roland, PA-C - Rheumatology

Jennifer Roland is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She moved to Colorado in 1993 to attend CU. Jennifer is married with a 2 year old daughter. She enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, running and hiking.

Jennifer Roland began her Physician Assistant practice at the Boulder Medical Center in the Department of Rheumatology on March 5, 2007. Prior to joining BMC Jennifer was in practice as a Physician assistant at Crossroads Medical Center with Dr. Carl Moritz, in Boulder in a family medicine practice involving all aspects of patient care.

MEDICAL TRAINING AND SPECIALTY

Jennifer Roland received a Bachelor of Arts degree in EPOB Biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She earned her Master's of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University College of Health Sciences in Glendale, Arizona.

Physician Assistants (PAs) are licensed health care providers who practice medicine or surgery with the supervision of a physician. They bring a comprehensive skill set to patient care and can conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative health care, asssit in surgery and often write prescriptions. To earn the PA-C or Physician Assistant - Certified credential, PAs must complete an intense accredited PA educational program, often housed in medical colleges or universities. Then they must pass a national certification exam, demonstrating a breadth of general medical and surgical knowledge. To stay certified, PAs must earn at least 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and pass a recertification exam every six years.
