Audrey Hemmings, DO
About Audrey Hemmings
Dr. Audrey Hemmings grew up in Greeley, Colorado and is a proud graduate of Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins. From the age of 4, she wanted to become a doctor and always considered this her calling in life.
Dr. Hemmings enjoys caring for others, developing relationships with her patients, and fulfilling her commitment to lifelong learning. As an OB-GYN provider in particular, she is “honored to care for and meet all women across all age groups and play a part in their lives.” She wants her patients to know that she comes from a family of many strong women. “I am the youngest of four sisters, with eight aunts, ten female cousins, and three nieces,” she says. “Women have played a large part in shaping who I am and I believe this background has given me the ability to connect with and develop strong relationships with my patients.”
She is committed to providing compassionate care and believes that lifelong learning in her field is important to delivering the best evidence-based care. “I also strive to educate my patients so that they can make their healthcare decisions, she says.” Dr. Hemmings considers her empathetic nature to be among the best characteristics that she brings to her practice. Additionally, she is a good listener, self-disciplined, and passionate about helping others. Her ability to relate and build caring relationships with women who have a variety of values and personalities makes her a trusted and in-demand physician.
In her free time, Dr. Hemmings enjoys playing volleyball (she was a NCAA Division I women’s volleyball athlete during her time at CSU), reading, shopping, skiing and anything outdoors.
As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Dr. Hemmings completed the same rigorous curriculum and board certifications as the allopathic programs, however, her training included a holistic and preventive approach to medicine. She was taught that medicine and the healing process involve the mind-body-spirit as a whole.
This approach included training in osteopathic manipulative medicine, which involves a more intricate study of the musculoskeletal system along with education on how to identify and treat structural problems to improve a person’s overall health.
Dr. Hemmings provides the full spectrum of OB-GYN care including:
- Routine gynecologic care with preventive medicine
- Minimally invasive surgery, including da Vinci robotic system
- Contraceptive counseling
- Low/high risk pregnancy and/or labor care
- Fertility and infertility
