About Daina Mead
Dr. Daina Mead’s Background
After completing her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Dr. Mead earned her Medical Degree with honors from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Her internship and residency through the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Fort Collins Family Practice Program included Family Medicine, Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Emergency Room in Denver hospitals. Dr. Mead was appointed Chief Resident during her final year.
Dr. Mead specializes in Family Practice, the specialty devoted to caring for the entire family. She is trained to treat 85 to 90 percent of all medical problems, regardless of the patient’s age or gender. Her training also affords her the ability to diagnose and refer patients to other specialists when needed.
Dr. Mead is particularly interested in the preventative health care of all adults and the comprehensive care of women and children. She believes family physicians are in a “unique and important position to coordinate the health care needs of families and individuals”.
