About Julie Ansell
Dr. Ansell joined the Boulder Medical Center in the fall of 2007.
She lives in Boulder with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking with her family, sitting by the fire with her cats, hiking and travelling.
Specialties and Educational Information
Dr. Ansell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Biology at Rice University in Houston Texas. She went on to earn her Masters degree from the University of Colorado in Anthropology. Dr. Ansell received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and completed her Residency at the McClennan County Medical Education and Research Foundation in Waco, Texas.
Dr. Ansell's practice includes newborn care, women's health, preventive and acute care of newborns, children, adolescents, and adults. She looks forward to establishing long lasting relationships with her patients and working together to build and maintain good health. She feels especially privileged when she is able to take care of several generations within a family!
She is passionate about health care equity, access and quality of care. She strongly supports the Patient Centered Medical Home movement and believes in the need for strong primary care as the basis for our health care system's success.
Dr. Ansell enjoys taking care of patients of all ages, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. She speaks some Spanish and regularly volunteers at St Benedicts Health and Healing Ministry to care for Boulder's homeless and underserved population.
Dr. Ansell is board certified in Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, Colorado Medical Society, and the Boulder County Medical Society.
