Ruth Weinberg, MD, FACOG
About Ruth Weinberg
Dr. Weinberg grew up in Seattle, Washington. She knew she wanted to be an OB-GYN physician after witnessing a C-section for the first time. “It started like a regular operation—very serious—then a slippery, chubby, blubbery baby came out!” she explains.
Since then, Dr. Weinberg has become experienced with all facets of the obstetrics and gynecology field, working with Boulder Medical Center from 1996-2004 then serving as Medical Director at Boulder Women’s Health Center from 2009 to 2021.
As part of the BMC OB-GYN team, Dr. Weinberg sees gynecology patients only and specializes in menopausal care, transgender hormone therapy (not surgery), office procedures, and contraception. “I am most inspired when I feel that I’ve improved the quality of life for my menopausal and transgender patients by helping them with hormone therapy,” she says. “It’s also important to me that I contribute to preventing unwanted pregnancies by helping people find the best contraceptive method for them.”
When it comes to her philosophy of care, Dr. Weinberg is dedicated to enabling her patients’ best possible quality of life. “I also have principles that I am firm about, such as not prescribing compounded medications when there are FDA-approved, bio-identical options that have been studied and are being monitored for adverse effects.”
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Weinberg enjoys playing tennis, running, and lifting weights. She also participates in Masters artistic swimming.
