Karin Knapp, MD, FAAP
About Karin Knapp
Karin Knapp, MD, came to Boulder Medical Center in 2008 after alternating between Colorado and California in pursuit of her extensive medical training. After growing up in Denver, she enrolled in the University of California San Diego to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, and thoroughly enjoyed the beaches and ultimate frisbee. Although she loved the West Coast, Dr. Knapp missed her family and Rocky Mountains. She returned home to attend the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
After medical school, she served her pediatrics residency at the University of California Los Angeles for her residency. While there, she was joined by Eric, her soon-to-be husband. Together, they decided to settle in Colorado. “We knew we would eventually come back for friends, family, and the ability to move forward on the highway,” she explains.
Dr. Knapp hikes, snowboards, paints, and practices Chinese calligraphy. Fun fact: she has earned first and second place distinctions in beach sandcastle contests. Dr. Knapp is proficient in Spanish.
Dr. Knapp is a board-certified pediatrician who enjoys caring for children ages newborn through 18 years. She offers a full range of services including:
- General pediatric care, including well-child exams, physicals, and sports physicals
- Newborn and well-baby care
- Acute and chronic pediatric illness
