About Katherine McCormack

Dr. Katie McCormack was born in San Jose, Calif., and spent most of her childhood in rural western Pennsylvania. As a result, she feels that she can happily claim two hometowns.

According to her parents, Dr. McCormack always wanted to be a doctor, a dream that persisted through childhood and adolescence. Her aspirations solidified when Dr. McCormack studied in Vietnam as an undergraduate and spent time with medically underserved children and older adults. Through these interactions, Dr. McCormack knew she wanted to become a physician.

Dr. McCormack’s favorite aspect of practicing medicine is her patients. “I’m fortunate to meet and interact with so many people every day who let me into their lives in the smallest way and allow me to make their lives better,” she says. “It is an amazing privilege.”

After earning her medical degree, Dr. McCormack entered a pediatrics residency at the University of Michigan. Here, she decided to specialize as an allergist after spending time in an allergy clinic. Further travels, particularly to Ethiopia to give medical talks on asthma, also reinforced her interest in the specialty.

Dr. McCormack has always loved working with adults and children equally. She enjoys developing long-term relationships with her patients, is passionate about improving their quality of life, and enjoys educating them about their conditions.

In her free time, Dr. McCormack enjoys hanging out with her dog, Lola, exercising at her favorite barre/spin studio, and spending time in the mountains. She enjoys hiking, camping, and skiing (a new sport she’s picked up since moving to Colorado). She also loves to cook and bake, and enjoys the delicious food the Front Range offers.

“Dr. McCormack is amazing! I have been struggling with asthma for more than a year with my little inhaler, and it was getting worse, and I figured that was the way it would be. After my first visit and following her protocol for the last two weeks, I feel like a new person. Dr. McCormack is so knowledgeable, explains everything in terms you can understand, and is super patient with all your questions. As a bonus, the rest of her team also rocks! Great experience and highly recommended!”
