Samuel Jacobowitz, MD
About Samuel Jacobowitz
Dr. Samuel Jacobowitz grew up on Long Island in Syosset, New York. Both his parents were nurses, and he was surrounded by discussions about healthcare, which sparked his interest in medicine at an early age. Driven by his fascination with science and a desire to help others, he pursued a healthcare career. “I realized that becoming a physician would not only be intellectually stimulating but also the most effective way to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives,” he explains.
He chose to specialize in family medicine due to a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment. “Being a family doctor is a humbling and inspiring experience,” he says. “Building long-term relationships with my patients is something I truly enjoy, and it brings me great satisfaction to know that I can help them through any challenges they may face, now and in the future.”
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Jacobowitz focuses on comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s unique needs, focusing on preventive measures and holistic well-being. He partners with his patients to address their illnesses’ root causes and harness opportunities for early intervention. “I want to treat the underlying cause of diseases,” he says. “By the time we treat someone in the hospital, it’s often too late. The way to prevent diseases and affect the trajectory of one’s health is by discussing the stressors, anxieties, and other lifestyle factors that contribute to illness.”
In his free time, Dr. Jacobowitz enjoys skiing, golfing, hiking, and spending time with his wife and their cats.
