About Timothy Jaeger
Dr. Timothy Jaeger grew up in two places: Berwyn, Pennsylvania and Colorado Springs, Colorado. He moved due to his father’s job, but enjoyed the opportunity to see such different places culturally. Prior to choosing medicine as a career, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Notre Dame and Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Colorado, which led to his first teaching job in Denver. Although he enjoyed teaching, Dr. Jaeger felt compelled to serve the families of his community by becoming a physician. After graduating from Tulane University School of Medicine he completed his pediatric training at University of Colorado, Children’s Hospital Colorado and Denver Health Medical Center.
As a pediatrician, Dr. Jaeger enjoys working with families. He believes that in order for a child to be healthy and succeed in life, the efforts, attention and empathy of an entire family is required. “When I have a family willing to work with me to find the right way to address a child’s health needs, I feel great about what we are doing for that patient and the potential for success,” he explains. He is inspired by the resilience of children, having witnessed firsthand some of the challenges that kids with chronic illnesses face, as well as the way children of all ages take adversity in stride.
The key skills he brings to his practice are his communication abilities, experience working with a wide range of families, and the highest quality training from a top pediatric residency program. “My experience working with families as an educator provides insight into a more global view of the challenges many families face,” he says. “My training in residency was second to none and has exposed me to almost every variation of disease processes. This enables me to diagnose and treat patients efficiently and with significant care for their needs.”
His philosophy of care is that the health of the child requires his insight along with care and attention provided by the family unit. “No child can be solely responsible for their health, and it is at the core of my practice to create plans of care that are family-driven.”
In his free time, Dr. Jaeger enjoys working in his garden, teaching, spending time with his three children, and enjoying good food with his wife when they have the freedom to do so.
As a pediatrician, Dr. Jaeger is qualified to manage all facets of the care of children. He has experience working with Oncologists, Pulmonologists, Cardiologists, and Nephrologists at Children’s Colorado as well as significant exposure to other specialties including Gastroenterology, Neurology, Genetics/Metabolics, and Sports Medicine. He offers well and sick visits, incision and drainage, circumcision, wart care and nail-related procedures. He is fluent in Spanish.
