About Dr. Andrews
Dr. Karen Andrews has been caring for patients at Boulder Medical Center since 2005, where she leads the Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology team. She is committed to helping children and adults improve their quality of life by combining evidence-based medicine with compassionate, individualized care.
Originally from Virginia, near Washington, D.C., Dr. Andrews earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia before receiving her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin and her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology through National Jewish Hospital and the University of Colorado.
Dr. Andrews believes the best care begins with listening. She takes time to understand each patient’s concerns, answer questions, and develop treatment plans that fit their individual needs and goals. She values patient education and enjoys partnering with families to help them better understand and confidently manage chronic allergic and immunologic conditions.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Andrews enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. Their household also includes two dogs, chickens, and a tarantula. When she’s not in the office, you’ll often find her hiking, camping, backpacking, figure skating, or enjoying live jazz music.
