Boulder Medical Center partners with Front Range Community College and the Boulder Chamber of Commerce to offer our nationally recognized Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program. This unique opportunity allows participants to receive formal education, on-the-job training, and a paycheck—all while preparing to become certified medical assistants in just 20 weeks.

What You’ll Learn
Through a combination of clinical work and academic coursework, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills needed to thrive as a Medical Assistant, including:
- Patient check-in/check-out and appointment coordination
- Taking medical histories and vital signs
- Assisting with exams and procedures
- Administering medications (under supervision)
- Electronic Medical Records documentation and confidentiality compliance
- Preparing and stocking examination rooms
- Communicating with patients and clinical staff

Program Requirements
To participate in the program, individuals must:
- Be currently enrolled in the Medical Assistant program at Front Range Community College
- Commit to 32 hours per week of clinical work in addition to the coursework
Basic computer, clinical, or administrative skills are helpful. Prior healthcare experience or knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
