Emily Ward, MD

About Dr. Ward
Dr. Emily Ward grew up in the small Midwestern town of Sycamore, Ohio, where a childhood in her family’s apple orchard first sparked her interest in health, prevention, and community care. A personal health experience as a child and seeing illness affect her family deepened her commitment to becoming a physician.
She went on to train in both internal medicine and pediatrics before specializing in adult gastroenterology. During her fellowship at the University of Colorado, Dr. Ward published research on metabolism and the gut microbiome—a field that continues to shape advances in digestive health. She has a particular interest in the gut’s connection to whole-body wellness and the role of endoscopy in cancer prevention.
Dr. Ward’s philosophy of care emphasizes listening to each patient’s full story and integrating lifestyle, nutrition, and evidence-based medicine into treatment. She values thorough, mindful procedures and a patient-centered approach that supports long-term health and quality of life.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ward enjoys hiking, Pilates, and reading. She treasures time with her family, whether coaching her daughter’s soccer team or sharing books with her son.
