OB-GYN Specialist
Boulder Medical Center – Louisville
As an OB-GYN at Boulder Medical Center in Louisville, Colorado, I have the privilege of caring for new and expectant parents daily. I love answering their questions—there is nothing more rewarding than helping people feel informed and confident as they prepare to welcome a baby.
I encourage every patient to ask three of my favorite questions during pregnancy. These thoughtful conversations can significantly affect how supported and prepared you feel for your birth experience.
“Tell me more about your practice. Will I see the same OB-GYN or rotate between providers throughout my pregnancy?”
Some practices rotate patients through all of their providers, while others prioritize continuity by having patients see the same doctor or midwife throughout their care.
Boulder Medical Center OBs strive to provide continuity of care throughout pregnancy. Most of our patients are cared for primarily by one of our four board-certified and experienced OB-GYNs, each with over a decade of experience. We’re an all-female team and value the relationships we build with our patients over time.
While it’s not always possible for each of us to deliver every one of our own patients, we do our best to be there for your delivery. We ensure that our patients know who to reach out to between visits, and we find this kind of personalized, consistent care rewarding—for you and us.
“Who will be present for my delivery?”
Most OB-GYNs share call schedules, which means they rotate being “on call” for deliveries—especially at night or on weekends.
Our OBs are on call for our own patients during the weekdays, so we can often attend the deliveries of the expecting mothers we’ve cared for throughout their pregnancy. On evenings and weekends, we rotate calls among our group to ensure everyone is rested and ready to provide the best care.
This care model offers consistent, personalized care while ensuring that a trusted OB-GYN specialist is always available when you need them.
“If an emergency happens, how is your labor and delivery unit prepared to care for my baby and me?”
Not all labor and delivery units offer the same level of resources. Some don’t always have an obstetrician or anesthesiologist in the hospital, and not all are equipped to care for babies born prematurely.
Boulder Medical Center OBs deliver babies at the New Life Center at AdventHealth Avista, where we’re fortunate to have 24/7 in-hospital OB-GYN coverage and anesthesiology care. We’re equipped to care for babies born as early as 26 weeks and have systems to handle emergencies quickly and smoothly. I feel fortunate to work in a hospital where expert help is always available.
Finally, I love to ask my patients the question,
“Is there anything important for me to know so I can take the best care of you?”
When I ask this question, patients are free to share what matters to them—a specific birth preference, a past experience, or even a fear they want to talk through. Creating space for this kind of honest conversation helps me provide truly patient-centered care, tailored to each person’s values.
